A letter to my friend

Dear friend, 

     

     Even though I might never know you before, It's my pleasure to share my 

stories with you.

    

     Right now, I'm living in a modern city called New York.  This city consists 

of five boroughs which are Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and Staten island.  

In Queens and Brooklyn, most Asian people live there.  I never feel that I am in 

a western country when I am in Flushing, Queens.    In Manhattan, I enjoy the 

tall buildings and blinking lights which bring the vigor of the city.   Since have 

been here for nearly one year, I deeply feel the distances between America and China.  

Additionally, I feel the power of this nation, such as highly developed technology, 

unity of different people and great ideas among the world.

     

     Everything is so fresh that makes me feel falling behind, especially for the 

technology.  The coverage of internet during people's daily life takes place huge 

amount of work and makes it more efficient, such as frequently used mobile phones 

and computers .  We can contact with our family and best friends whenever we want, 

such as walking in the street and taking our meals.  By computer system, we can 

well organize the whole processing of work, such as the operating in subway and

airport.   

     

     What's more, this is also a place of multiple races.  People all around the world 

come with American dreams.  The places where I live can be clearly divided by the 

groups of people like Indian, Korean, Chinese and Spanish.  Don't you think that's an 

interesting thing?  Different areas with different people with different personalities.  

Even through have different background, culture and custom, they become a nation at 

last.  How can they get on with each other is an challenge thing, not only for a 

nation, but the whole United States of America.

     

     Also, I like the great ideas which produce in this god-bless land.  American 

people pursuit freedom and equity.  With this dream, they struggled with courage 

and challenged the top of the world.  So that we can find iphone, ipad and almost 

perfect products.  Steven Jobs created this imagination and left with another 

imagination for us to expect.  Sometimes, a great idea comes out after a cup of 

coffee.  However, how to make a cup of coffee so valuable that creat great ideas?  I 

think Starbucks does answer briefly.  It is not only a cup of coffee that kind of simple 

thing, instead, a cup of coffee going along with great ideas inside so that make the 

world-wide known brand.  I like communicate with different people.  By 

exchanging ideas, we can broaden our minds and vision.  Here, in New York, I find 

the right place.  

     That's why I enjoy my life here.  Regardless how different from China, I really 

looking forward to learning through practice.  For that, I can fulfill myself and keep 

on going with looking ahead in the future. No matter who you are, I am happy to 

make friends with you and share my stories with you .  Among thousands and 

millions of people, it is lucky to share my stories with you.
